Zip It is inspired by a traditional Yoruba masquerade, Egungun, used to celebrate ancestral spirits. This masquerade is made with flaps which, when dancing, reveal the underneath fabrics. Zip It can be worn zipped or unzipped – especially while dancing – to twirl like the dancing masquerade. Zip It is made from 51 zippers, embellished with variegated ribbon and silver animal buttons. The lining is Nigerian hand dyed satin.
